BMW Gina Light Car Concept

Car manufacturers have always been interested to explore how the vehicles of the future would be like, but the key remains as to how prepared are we to face the challenge of presenting newer options. We know that BMW always introduces jaw-dropping car concept such as the last post in this blog BMW M1 Homage, but even in our wildest dream we don’t expect to see BMW latest car concept would be made of cloth. BMW Group Design has come up with GINA or Geometry and Functions in “N” Adaptations. BMW Gina Light car concept promotes innovative thinking and allows maximum freedom of creativity. Also BMW has explored the creative options that can be provided rather than probing how the future cars will look like. This car can change shape and surface at the flick of a switch, and the ‘GINA’ principles it espouses have been used to craft today’s BMW design language.

Ronn Motor Company has created a sports car concept which runs in 30-40 % blend of hydrogen and gasoline. Scorpion, the sports car concept doesn’t require high-pressure hydrogen tank, unlike other hydrogen car, instead, the car’s alternator is injected into the motor that sends an electric charge through the water in a storage tank and releases hydrogen that means it produces hydrogen while driving. This surely differences Scorpion car from the usual gasoline-hydrogen car in the market.

Most people, these days, live in automobile cities. Cars are essential for getting around; they mediate the experience of the city; they occupy huge amounts of real estate; they make a lot of noise and they clutter up the streets. Yet architects and urban designers mostly take them as given, and are content to design streets and public spaces around whatever the world’s few remaining automobile manufacturers happen to provide. HereDr. Mitchell Joachim tries to challenge and reverse this well-worn assumption.

With expanding cities and dearth of parking spaces, more and more emphasis is being given to ecological vehicles. The vehicles are designed on aspects such as space and security elements. Goran Marinkovic has come out with what he calls Concept Embryo, a two-seater urban vehicle.
Concept Car Embryo is powered by fuel cells which uses clean fuels like hydrogen. It is completely ecological as it is made of recyclable aluminum and silicon materials used mostly for interior elements. Design wise, it looks like an organism, however safety wise too, it derives the same thought. Soft material is used for exterior while inside it has a protective layer to absorb the impact and keep the passengers safe. The safety system also acts as a communicating system for information like speed, distance etc. and if necessary auto pilot also reacts to avoid possible accidents. With all these safety and design features it surely is a winner in robotic era.

One of the models that sure will grab eye balls at this year’s Festival of Speed at Goodwood would be the Citroën’s C-Métisse concept. Its appearance is the first in the UK for this 155mph supercar which made its debut at the 2006 Paris Motor Show.
It’s marked by front and rear gull-wing doors, with an cockpit that is “aviation-style”, the and is powered by a 208bhp V6 HDi diesel engine. Also there are two separate electric motors placed on the rear wheels, enabling a top speed of 155mph, and reaches 0-62mph in 6.2 seconds while producing a torque of 400Nm, all this while retaining exceptional fuel economy a whopping 45 miles per gallon on the combined cycle! and maintaining low-emissions. So just zip zap and zoom!

aspid roadster 400 hpWe lways wanted to have a car like Caterham, but the one and only thing that came to our minds by looking at it was that this car would have been better with roof, 400 horsepower and more luxury. So all the prayers have been answered and the IFR has come up with an all-new Aspid with roof in which two engines will be available and a naturally aspirated 2.0-liter producing 270 hp, or a 400-hp turbocharged version of the same mill. This light weight carbon fiber structure whose power will be sent to the rear wheels via a six-speed manual gearbox and a limited-slip differential to get that 400
2008 cobra venom v8Jamie Martin, is a UK based designer who has come up with the Cobra Venom V8 which is a successor to the renowned AC Cobra of the 60’s. It is light weight and comes with big power just like the original car. The car features extruded aluminum chassis and the body panel is made of carbon fiber. The safety of the occupants is ensured by F1-style alloy “protective cocoon” and alohas front and back airbags. The 4.6 liter Ford V8 engine gives a whopping 524 hp, with a top speed of 214 mph. The car comes with a 6 speed manual transmission and comes with a paddle shift option. So what are you waiting for! Just zap away in a flash.

ozone hydrogen powered concept carThe new concept vehicle called ‘Ozone’ seems to revolutionize the way we commute. The vehicle works on hydrogen powered fuel cells and looks futuristic in every way possible. Also the thought and the concept seems to be fine, however the structure might make you feel uncomfortable in your seats. The body is encased between two giant wheels controlled by separate motors which are powered by fuel cells, though this two seater looks more like a design picked straight out of fantasy due to its semi transparent glass casing and controlled by joystick. The huge glass doors slide 360 degree into the symmetric metal body. It sure is one cool futuristic concept.

smarttravel future cabJaxon Douglas has designed SmartTravel, a futuristic transport system which can transport 12 people while taking minimum road space possible. This automatic transport has provision for four people to stand and wheelchair for the disabled. It is powered by battery, wherein the same is energized through ground by wireless energy system. Overall it ensures optimum utilization of space in the interiors, while still being spacious and classy. Thus there is a new twist age old notion of economy vs comfort!
